How to Take a CVS Pregnancy Test

CVS sells 3 varieties of store brand home pregnancy tests. One is a digital version and the other 2 are non digital. When you're ready to test, first check the date on the bottom of the box to make sure the tests haven't expired. If you're all set, open the box and remove one of the tests from its packaging. Assemble the digital test using the instructions inside the box. Make sure the "Test Ready" symbol appears on the screen before you use it. Remove the cap to expose the stick's absorbent tip.

If you're using a digital test, hold the stick by its thumb grip and place the tip pointing downward in your urine stream for 5 to 7 seconds or collect a sample of your urine in a clean, dry container and dip the test stick in it for 15 seconds. If you're using a non digital test, place it in your urine stream for 5 seconds or in a cup for 20 seconds. Place the stick on a flat surface with the result window facing up. The digital "Test Ready" symbol should begin blinking within 20 to 30 seconds and should display a result within 3 minutes.

If you're using a non digital test, leave it there for at least 2 minutes but no longer than 10. After the appropriate amount of time has passed, check your results. The digital test is straightforward. When it's finished processing, the screen will either display the words "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant." If the words "See Leaflet" appear on the screen, an error has occurred. Reference the package instructions for your next steps. Regardless of the result, both non digital tests will show a single vertical line in the oval control window. If they don't, the tests didn't work.

The second round window of the early pregnancy test will show nothing if the test is negative. If it's positive, you'll see a single vertical line. It doesn't matter how faint or dark the line is. If one is present, you're pregnant. The one-step pregnancy test will show a single horizontal line if the test is negative. If it's positive, you'll see two lines that intersect to form a plus sign. Again, the shade of the lines doesn't matter.
